About Casa Palopó
Originally a private home, Casa Palopo has been artfully transformed into an award-winning luxury boutique hotel with two very distinct types of accommodation: the original charming boutique-style hotel, and a more recent addition, a fully equipped two-bedroom private Villa. The main hotel has seven rooms, of varying sizes. All enjoy a unique touch through the use of furniture, textiles, art, and color. The modern bathrooms in each suite are a work of art, tiled with Guatemalan tiles, and offering L`Occitane personal care products. Private balconies open onto panoramic vistas in each of the rooms. The award-winning restaurant and bar, 6.8 Palopo, and a fire lit lounge furnished with overstuffed couches, dramatic paintings, and Guatemalan textiles are also located in the main building. Guests enjoy meals on the patio with expansive views of the lake and volcanoes, and candlelight dinners in the evenings. Just outside the restaurant is the solar heated pool. Located further up the mountain is the second building, the Villa. The contemporary style Villa is decorated with paintings, African textiles, and artifacts and has two large comfortable bedrooms with mahogany four-poster beds, wrapped in fine Italian linens. The private bathrooms with views of the lake have large tubs, slate floors, and separate showers. These rooms can be rented individually, or you can rent the entire Villa. Guests renting the whole Villa then have access to a large open living room area with fireplace, patios, and terraces overlooking the lake with a 180-degree view, a modern kitchen that comes with the added pleasure of a personal chef (with advanced notice and at an additional charge), a butler, as well as the exclusive use of the Villa’s heated infinity lap pool, Jacuzzi, and outdoor seating area with stone fireplace. With the private helipad, guests may choose to arrive by helicopter for their stay. Reception staff can assist with all transportation needs. Inquire about costs for private shuttles from the airport, to Antigua, or nearby villages. Boat tours around the lake are easily arranged for you as well, and Casa Palopo offers the added convenience of our private dock.
