About Casa Palopó
Owned and operated by Guatemalan native Claudia Bosch, this dramatically situated villa-like hideaway overlooks the scenic Lake Atitlán and three towering volcanoes. Seven guest rooms have private patios with lake or volcano views and are decorated with Guatemalan artifacts and artwork, brightly colored textiles, heavy hardwood furniture and well-appointed baths with hand-painted murals and tiles. A contemporary villa, staffed with its own chef and butler and comprising three suites, a full kitchen, a heated infinity pool and a hot tub, is 150 steps up from the main building. Public areas include a stylish lounge in the main house accented with Mayan rugs, an atmospheric library, a pool and a superb dining room that flows out to a hillside terrace with breathtaking lake views. Boat excursions to craft villages can be arranged. The hotel does not permit children under the age of 10.
