About COMO Castello Del Nero
Set on a 740-acre hilltop estate in a nature reserve equidistant from Florence and Siena, this historic hotel is housed within an imposing 12th-century castle. The 50 guest rooms, refreshed by Italian designer Paola Navone, showcase a contemporary style with terra-cotta floors, 18th-century frescoes, vaulted ceilings and Tuscan painted furniture. Michelin-starred La Torre restaurant serves outstanding cuisine in a former stable and, in summer, on a leafy garden terrace. Many ingredients employed by the kitchen are sourced from the on-site kitchen garden. There is also an atmospheric bar and wine cellar, and an alfresco restaurant offering Mediterranean fare during the summer. Other amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis courts set in an olive grove and a lavish spa with a fitness suite. The hotel is closed from mid-November to early April.
